Holter and Pacemaker

A Holter procedure performed on a patient with a pacemaker, at best should illustrate: failure to capture, failure to sense, competition and fusion phenomena, and inappropriate rate response. The pacemaker problems can only be identified if the actual pacer spike and corresponding conduction is seen as it actually occurred. Additionally, the Holter report should provide valuable information as to how the pacemaker functioned during the normal 24 hour period for the patient.
